Ayesha Takia postpones marriage in the wake of attacks

In the wake of the 26/11 terrorist attacks, Ayesha Takia's wedding to restaurateur Farhan Azmi has been called off.The shaadi was to take place on December 25. It now has been postponed to mid-2009. But a date has not been finalised as yet.

Ayesha is currently in Greece shooting a song for Boney Kapoor's Wanted. The groom-to-be confirms, "When Ayesha heard the news of the attacks, she broke down. Dad (SP party leader Abu Azmi), was in a hospital recuperating from an operation; he too started crying when he heard about the terrorist attacks. None of us are in the mood for any celebrations this year. Our mood is too grim and somber. There can be no wedding celebrations as of now maybe mid-2009 and that too it will be a small and private affair."Farhan adds, "We are all shaken up by what happened. I saw it happening next door, as Nariman House is seven buildings away from our home and very close to the Taj and Oberoi hotels. When the Oberoi was sealed, many guests came from there to Koyla and Cafe Basilico (both owned by Farhan). None wanted to stay, so I took them home. On the first night from Koyla, which is 500m away from the Taj, we could see the fire burning on the sixth floor and hear women and children screaming to be let out 'please help us'รข€¦ It still gives me goose bumps to even think about it."

Ayesha, meanwhile, is busy completing her last three projects Ahmed Khan's Pathshaala, Nagesh Kukunoor's Tasveer and Boney Kapoor's Wanted Dead or Alive. She had earlier informed her producers that she won't shoot in December, as she was planning to quit acting after tying the knot.

Akshay says to India: Everything's gonna B alright!

More than a month ago, we had broken the news that Akshay Kumar is lending his voice for an animation film, JUMBO, produced by the Percept Picture Company, for a sum of nine crores. We had further informed that Akshay Kumar will also participate in the picturisation of two promotional videos. Well, the good news is that one of the two promotional songs has been aired on all leading music channels on Sunday and is simply awesome. Featuring our very own 'Khiladi' Kumar the composition is by Ram Sampat. After a superb effort in KHAKEE this will be Ram Sampat's next film with Akshay Kumar. Sampat lately has been more in the news for his infamous fight with music director Rakesh Roshan over the alleged plagiarism of the KRAZZY 4 title track. The promotional music video is quite in sync with times. The song is superb as the lyrics convey a message that is just befitting the situation of our country. It urges the nation to stand united against all odds and have faith. The song goes like this– Sending a message to my people, Jab Tak Dil Mein Hai Faith, This World Is A Lovely Place, Dil Mein Rakhna Tu Fight, Everything Is Gonna B Alright, Jab Tak Hum Side By Side, Everything Is Gonna B Alright. A lovely message indeed! One must commend the makers for choosing the most appropriate number during the present scenario in our country post the dastardly terror attack on Mumbai. And we are sure that everyone will welcome it with open arms. While on JUMBO, the release date has now been shifted to Christmas and it appears that Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar ( this time as just a voice!) will slug it out once again after the WELCOME and TAARE ZAMEEN PAR clash last Christmas.

Kareena Kapoor endorses Kurkure Desi Beats

while ago, we had informed you of PepsiCo India Holdings having appointed Kareena Kapoor as their new brand ambassador for its snack food products. However, it was unclear as to which sub-brand she would be promoting. Now finally the cat's out of the bag!Kareena has been brought onboard as the new face for PepsiCo Snack Foods, particularly for its famous product Kurkure. However, Juhi Chawla who has been associated with the brand Kurkure for nearly five years will continue to be the face of the brand. Juhi and Kareena would together look at endorsing the entire portfolio, though the details haven't been chalked out. Kareena, being the face of the young, Gen-Next India has been roped in to promote 'Kurkure Desi Beats'. In fact the TVC has Kareena playing a character similar to popular story book character 'Cinderella'. She is shown as the maid of the house, while her stepsisters have all the fun. The 'desi' twist in the story is when singer Ila Arun comes to the rescue as her godmother. She offers Kareena a packet of 'Kurkure Desi Beats' to spice up her life. The Englishmen and her stepsisters are having a boring dance, when 'desi' girl Kareena arrives in Indian attire and adds the much needed spark to the party. The ad film ends with the tagline - 'No Fun, Without Desipann'.One will have to wait and watch if Kareena is able to bring in her charisma to keep Brand Kurkure rocking.
