Miss India crown doesn't guarantee B'wood success

Former Miss India Neha Dhupia, who has as many as five films lined up this year, says winning a beauty pageant is no guarantee of striking gold in Bollywood and that it's only hard work that finally counts.
"It's not easy to create a place for yourself in Bollywood even if you have a pageant behind you. No one in the industry was holding special carpets for me because I had won the Miss India contest. You have to work hard if you want to prove something. It's taken me a long time to carve a niche for myself, but I'm glad that finally I have done it," Neha told IANS on phone from Goa.
The actress is set to appear in five movies this year - "Paying Guest" with Mukta Arts, "Pappu Can't Dance Saala" and "Raat Gayi Baat Gayi" by actor-director Saurabh Shukla, "Raftaar" co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Priyadarshan's "De Dhana Dan". Read more..............

Amrita cancels her honeymoon trip

Newly wedded couple Amrita and Shakeel Ladhak had to cancel her honeymoon trip to Mexico due to excessive drug violence in the country. Mexico was the choice of Amrita but unfortunately she had to drop her plan on looking at the unsafe scenario of the country. Western beauty and spicy cuisine fascinated Amrita to choose Mexico. A source close to Amrita says, "Amu and Shakeel had planned a 15-day honeymoon. They were to leave on March 14, go to New York and head to Mexico from there. However, due to escalating drug violence in the last week, their plans stand cancelled. Amrita has been to most European cities, so she wanted to either go to Mexico or Hawaii places she's never been to before." Their families have been debarring them from going to Mexico. "Finally yesterday, both Shakeel and Amu decided they would fly to New York and then go to Hawaii or some other place rather than risk their lives going to Mexico."After shooting for Pantaloon campaign, the duo will head to New York. Marriage has not put a full stop on Amrita’s career. After enjoying honeymoon, she will shoot for Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakht Ishq and Season's Greetings.

Bips gives up late night parties for John

Bong bombshell Bipasha Basu is known to set the dance floor on fire on reel and real. She is a party lover and enjoys late night parties. But the sultry actress has decided to bid good bye to late night parties and discos for boyfriend John Abraham as he doesn’t like her partying late night. Talking about attending discos, Bips says, "I used to go to late night parties and clubs earlier but now I don't have time for all that. In fact John didn't like it. He used to accompany me every time I went to such parties. Not just that he even used to keep a watch on me while I was on the dance floor. In fact when you are on the floor, there are lots of people who just try to come close to dance with even if you don't want. Quite often they misbehave. It's a place where people drink and dance. So there are possibilities of such things which may annoy you.""If somebody came closer to me, John used to immediately come down on the floor and become a kind of protective wall for me. He used to be shielding me every time anything of this kind happened. I enjoyed my parties for a while but later on I realised that John didn't like it. So I stopped doing that. Since than it has been a long time that I went for any dance party," added Bipasha.
