Harris Jayaraj splits with Gautham!

In a shocking development, noted music composer Harris Jayaraj has announced his split with director Gautham Vasudev Menon!
Harris, through his PRO Nikhil Murugan has issued a statement saying that he is parting ways with Gautham.
Gautham and Harris debuted together in the 2001 romantic musical Minnale, which had outstanding music score. The pair established themselves as one of the most popular director-music director combination with foot tapping music in films like- Khakka Khakka, Vettayadu Vilayadu, Pachaikili Muthucharam and their latest Vaaranam Aayiram.
Now, Harris in his statement issued to the press says-" I have a very good respect for Mr. Gowtham Menon and in return he has reciprocated the same. But now, things have gone sour that it's better for us to part ways as good friends leaving behind some beautiful memories with a heavy heart. I have to take this decision on behalf of us. I know this might disappoint my fans, music lovers and well wishers in the industry. It's best for us to leave it at this, since I always believed that to create soul stirring music, the bond between a Music composer and the director is vital. Once it's lost, it is difficult to get back".
It could not have come at a worst time, on the day before the release of Vaaranam Aayiram! Harris told sify.com: " What will one do, if a marriage goes bad? You have to split! Anyway I wish him all the best." Harris said that he will not be attending today's (Nov 13) red carpet premiere of the film, as he has a recording!

Wedding Bells for Juhi Parmar and Sachin Shroff

After a long hunt of four years Juhi Parmar finally found her Mr. Right and the man of her dreams in Sachin Shroff of ‘Sindoor’ and ‘Naaginn’ fame. Earlier it was reported that the much in love couple will tie the knot by early next year (2009). Now the date has been announced. It’s Feb.15, 2009 a day after Valentine’s Day. A very excited Juhi says, "I have always been dreaming of it, and now it is here, I am getting married to my beloved on Feb 15". The wedding will take place in her home town of Jaipur. Their engagement will be held on Valentine’s Day, just a day before marriage. The couple had first met around five years back for a pilot shoot of a show, but none of them ended up doing it. But they struck up a healthy friendship during the shoot. It was only a month back that they fell in love and came out in the open. Juhi is busy preparing these days. She says, "I am taking time out and have been taking note of every small thing which is related to my marriage. My parents have been sending me details of everything through mails." But there were plenty of reasons for not zeroing in on February 14. She jokes, "Sachin wanted the marriage to be on 14th Feb, so that he escapes with just one gift rather than giving two." While most TV actors prefer quiet or secret weddings, Juhi plans to have a grand and lavish marriage. She says, "I have always dreamt of it and now it is happening. I am really very excited." This sure is going to be one fairy tale wedding.

Big release planned for ‘Ghajini’ starring Aamir Khan

Ghajini distributors, Studio 18, plan to play safe and rely on pre release hype to recover their investments in A.R. Murugadoss’ Ghajini. The film will be released on Christmas Day countrywide with 1200 prints, a record that surpasses the 1050 print release of Singh Is Kingg.
“‘Ghajini’ will be the biggest and widest release ever, breaking the record set by ‘Singh Is Kinng’, which was also distributed by us,” says Aman Gill, Director, Domestic Theatrical Distribution, Studio 18.
“With ‘Singh Is Kinng’, we set a precedent in the way the films are marketed and with ‘Ghajini’ we tend to go beyond that,” adds Priti Shahani, Sr. V.P., Marketing & Distribution, Studio 18,
It is likely, the Studio 18 move is motivated as much by their confidence in the film as the jitters from the prevailing economic downturn. What is for sure is they are not banking on word of mouth publicity.
Attempts by Sawf News to get additional information about the release were spurned by the film’s publicists - Spice PR. On an earlier occasion Spice PR’s amusingly ill tempered publicist Shilpa Handa told us, “Sawf News is not important to us. It has no standing!”
