Kushboo is now a playback singer!

It seems to be the season for actresses turning playback singers. Recently actress Sandhya sang a song for a movie titled Manjal Veyyil. The movie has a musical score by Bharadwaj.

Noted Malayalam actress Mamtha Mohandoss rendered a couple of songs in Telugu that were set to tune by Devi Sri Prasad. Joining the list is Kushboo.
The dream girl of youth in 1990s, Kushboo has sung a racy number for Maganae Marumagane. The movie, produced jointly by Muthulakshmi Movies and Raj TV, is directed by T P Gajendran. Starring Vivek, Mithun and T P Gajendran in the lead roles, the movie has a musical score by Dhina.
Kushboo rendered a song Natchatram natchatram boomiyilae paaru....Dhinam rathiriyil un kanavil varuvadhu yaaru?.... , penned by lyricist Snehan. The song was recorded at Dhina's music studio in Chennai on Saturday. Kushboo, who made her debut as child artiste, shot to fame with Chinnathambi. She went on to become a popular heroine acting opposite almost all prominent artistes including Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Karthick and Vijayakanth.
After her marriage to director Sundar C, she decided to reduce her acting commitments. She ventured into production churning out movies and mega serials.
Speaking about her debut as playback singer, Kushboo said, ' I was extremely thrilled when director T P Gajendran urged me to sing a song. Initially I was hesitant to sing. However Dhina and Snehan helped me a lot and made me feel comfortable. I understood the difficulties involved in playback singing. I am confident that this song will top the audiocharts for it has a catchy tune and the lyrics are hilarious, she added.
Vivek will be doing an important role in the film, touted to be as significant as the hero’s himself. He is paired with Yamini Sharma, who shared the screen with Vadivelu in Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan.
Speaking about the movie, Gajendran says, ' it is about a son and son-in-law who create a ruckus within a family. It will be a hilarious entertainer and the whole family can sit and watch the film.'
Journalist Krishna Davinci has penned the dialogues and Rajarajan did the cinematography.
